79cc HF 4 stroke frame mount build

As most of you know im currently building a frame mounted 79cc harbor freight four stokre motorized bike.
I've got the Govener off. Removed gas tank. I finally got all my parts in. My jackshaft whcih is 2 5/8" pillow block bearings with a 12" 5/8" shaft, 2 collars locks, 9 tooth sprocket, 18 tooth sprocket. A small sheet of steel and some brackets and chain.
As far as mounting it. Trying to figure ways to do it. Might weld it or bend the front of the sheet and use the brackets to mount it. But it should be done in no time
Thanks,
Cody

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!
I see you are getting your build going!!!! Looks nice so far!
BTW, if you remove the stock muffler (straight pipe) and replace the restrictive airfilter cover with some expanded metal, you will gain MUCH more power!!!
I'm not online much dude, but I'll keep checking up on your build!!!

Re: 79cc HF 4 stroke frame mount build
Thanks.
I've been thinking about running a straight pipe or something like that. But that will most likely happen after i get it mounted.
I havent yet looked at or around the air filter. Would it be possible to get a K&N style filter for like a scooter or pocket bike or w/e to put on. I noticed on the other forum that i guy put the same engine on a chopper and he had two of the filters im talking about. That would probally be a plus in performance plue it looks sleak.
Do you have any pics of your air filter cover you made.
Thanks,
Cody

All I did, was remove the stock plastic cover for the foam filter, and used the stock thumbscrews to hold the expanded-metal on to keep the foam in place. It looks really good, and definitely helps the airflow.

This little engine has a LOT of potential. My bro's setup with this motor now goes over 40mph (40-42 depending on wind) since the air-filter and exhaust mods!
Being your engine is ON the bike, and not a trailer, you may go even faster........

Oh seems easy, It deff. looks better. I'll get a peice of chrome. that will look sharp.
These things are faster than the 2 Strokes. 40mph is plenty.
Possibly. But my dad thinks it would be easyier to rack mount it now. He needs to finally make up his mind. I would do everytihyng myself if i knew how to weld.

Re: 79cc HF 4 stroke frame mount build
I need to update you on the 79cc engine.
My bro hit a new speed record of 45.3MPH!!!!
(calculated at ~4800 RPM)
WOW! You will really love this engine!
I can't wait until you get this bike rolling! Get a welder at Harbor Freight! It will help a LOT with things!
This motor is the future of motorized biking! Lots of power!

Re: 79cc HF 4 stroke frame mount build
45mph. wow was that on flat road. thats crazy.
i just need to get my grandpas welder. hes got like 6 of them and there all fancy ones like lincolns and so forth.
yea i can tell, price, size, and speed.
overall i think ive spent a little under 200 bucks. thats cheaper than any 4 stroke kit on the market and the same price as most 2 stroke kits
i cant wait to get it all put together

Re: 79cc HF 4 stroke frame mount build
thanks,
wow thats awesome. that will be like a motorcycle. speeds of 60+mph.
well i got the idea form graucho. but its just 2 5/8" pillow block bearings and a foot long 5/8" shaft and 2 5/8" shaft collars and 2 sprockets that were 5/8".
it depends on the sprockets and wheel diameter.
thanks and u 2.

Re: 79cc HF 4 stroke frame mount build
the motor is on the bike finallly. it took forever. the braces for the rack mount didnt fit after we reinforced it with another metal plate so we had to make some new ones. I just have to switch out sprocets and put the chain on and hook my throttle and i'll be buzzing around on the road.
I'll put some pics up tommrow
